Dr Kate Bisshop-Witting is Interim Director in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and a senior leader within the University's professional leadership team. She provides strategic oversight of education policy, governance and operational delivery, working with academic and professional leaders to support the University鈥檚 teaching and student experience.
Before joining the Education Portfolio, Kate was General Manager of the College of Science and Medicine (CoSM), leading professional services across finance, HR, student administration, research support, communications, international partnerships and philanthropy. She guided the College through major structural and financial changes, embedding new operating models while maintaining high-quality service delivery in a complex and resource-constrained environment.
Kate has contributed to University-wide reform initiatives, including serving as Change Delivery Lead in the Academic Portfolio and as a member of the Renew ANU Program Board. She has held senior leadership roles across multiple University Schools and acted as Executive Officer in the Research School of Social Sciences. Earlier in her career, she worked at the University of Melbourne in graduate education and international admissions.
Kate holds a PhD and a Master of Arts (First Class Honours) in Applied Linguistics from the University of Melbourne, and a Diploma of Music Performance (Harpsichord) from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Known for her calm, delivery-focused leadership style, she is passionate about fostering inclusive, sustainable change in complex academic environments.
