Your guide to activating your global alumni community
Whether you’re keen to lead a an ANU Alumni Network or looking for a simpler way to stay involved, there’s a place for you in the ANU alumni community. This guide walks you through two flexible ways to contribute — so you can find the option that suits you best.
What is a Global Volunteer?
Global Volunteers are individual alum who represent ANU in their local areas, helping to keep alumni connected and informed, even when there aren't enough people or resources to form a full Alumni network. It's a flexible way to support ANU, share updates, take part in alumni activity, and be a recognised point of contact in your regoin. No committees, no fuss, just meaningful engagement that fits your lifestyle.
What is an Alumni Network?
When several Global Volunteers are active in the same area, they may choose to join forces and establish an Alumni Network. These are coordinated groups of alumni who volunteer to run events, activities, and outreach, often based on location, profession, or shared interest. Forming a network is a natural step when there is enough momentum and local enthusiasm.
Why get involved?
Volunteering as a Global Volunteer and eventually as a Network coordinator, if it suits - is a rewarding way to stay connected, give back and grow your skills. Whether you are sharing news, hosting a catch-up or leading a group, you will be helping to build a global, supportive, and engaging ANU alumni community.
