There are countless ways you can help by sharing your time, skills and wisdom with ANU students and alumni. Whether you have an hour or a semester, online or in person, there’s a meaningful way for you to get involved.
Volunteer opportunities across campus and beyond
From mentoring students to speaking on career panels, supporting campus events to encouraging community outreach, your unique experience matters and makes an impact.
- Speaker: Join us as a Speaker, Guest Lecturer, Panelist, or MC. You’ll deliver insights, lead discussions, or introduce sessions at events – helping inform and inspire current students and fellow alumni.
- Mentor: As a Mentor, you’ll play a key role in guiding and supporting new alumni and students by sharing your experiences, offering advice and helping others navigate their academic or professional journeys. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about giving back, enjoy meaningful conversations and want to make a lasting impact through one-on-one or group mentoring.
- Advocate: Become an Alumni Advocate and help promote the University at events or on social media through sharing your experience. You’ll represent ANU at activities like Open Days, International Information Sessions, and Graduations ceremonies- engaging with current and prospective students and sharing your passion for the ANU experience.
- Network: Join one of our alumni networks and help build connections locally based on your region or your shared interests. As a Network member, you might help organise events, share resources, our support fellow alumni. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about staying engaged with their alma mater, fostering relationships and contributing to the success of the alumni network. Some examples of our ANU Alumni Networks are the the UK & Europe Alumni Network, ANU Indigenous Alumni Network, ANU LGBTQIA+ Alumni Network, Alumni in North America, Alumni in Hong Kong, Alumni in Indonesia, and much more.
- Event support: As an Event Support volunteer, you’ll help ensure events run smoothly – from managing registrations and tech checks, to assisting speakers and attendees. You may also contribute to broader university programs that support student life and enhance the campus experience, such as tree planting and greening campus initiatives, The Student Pantry and the ANU Community Garden.
