Preparing to confer
Next ceremony information
The next available graduation ceremonies will be held in 2026 (dates to be confirmed).
If your award is conferred in July or December, you will automatically receive an invitation to attend once ceremony details are finalised. Invitations will be sent to your ANU Alumni email account.
No action is required at this stage to notify us of your intention to attend.
Updated information will be published on the ANU Graduation website by late October.
Congratulations on your upcoming conferral
If you have been 'approved' or 'conditionally approved' (pending your final results) to confer in the upcoming conferral session, you will receive an invitation to confer your award via your ANU student email account.
Invitations for Semester 1 are sent in May/June, Semester 2 are sent in October/November.
If you have not received an invitation, but think you should have, please contact your ANU Academic College.
Steps to confer:
Step 1 - Check your personal details are correct
The name on your Testamur
Your name will appear on your Testamur exactly as it appears in ANUHub. The Testamur is a legal document and as such, can only display your legal name. Testamurs cannot include nicknames, shortened or diminutive forms of your name, or initials. You may drop or reorder names, but not add names.
You should check how your name is recorded on via this pathway:
NavBar (compass icon) > Menu > ANUHub > Personal Data > Profile (see "Primary Name")
To correct or change the way your name is recorded ANUHub, you must submit a Change of Name, Title or Date of Birth form by the deadline advised in the conferral guide.
Your mailing address and contact phone number
Please ensure your mailing address and phone number/s are in English and up-to-date in ANUHub. If you are graduating in absentia, this will ensure we post your Testamur to the correct address.
You should check your personal details on via this pathway:
NavBar (compass icon) > Menu > ANUHub > Personal Data > Profile
Please note:
We cannot post to PO Box addresses.
If listing an international mailing address, please make sure you list an international contact number for our courier.
There is no charge for the first initial postage of Testamur(s). If your Testamur is returned, charges may apply for re-postage services.
Step 2 - Responding on ANUHub (only if you wish to defer)
You only need to respond via ANUHub if you do not wish to have your award(s) conferred in the upcoming conferral session. You can elect to defer your conferral for up to 12 months and will receive another conferral guide in the future.
All students who do not respond via ANUHub will automatically be conferred in the upcoming conferral session. Your invitation details on ANUHub will show as "in absentia" after the response deadline advised in the conferral guide.
Step 3 - Settle any outstanding obligations to the University
You will not be permitted to confer if you have any outstanding fines or obligations to the University. Please make sure that all obligations are finalised well in advance of conferral to avoid disappointment.
Step 4 - Conferral documents
You will receive free electronic copies of your Testamur, Transcript and AHEGS within 72 hours of your conferral. These documents are uploaded securely to the My eQuals platform, where you will have unlimited access to your documents online.
For more information about your conferral documents, including optional purchase of hard copies of your Academic Transcripts or AHEGS, visit this webpage.
Step 5 - Confirm your final eligibility to confer
Your final eligibility to confer will be listed on as advised in the conferral guide.
